[1] The Third Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Toxins published by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) presented biomonitoring exposure data for 148 environmental chemicals for the U.S. population over a 3-year period (1999-2002). Concentrations of toxins were monitored in the urine and blood of adults, and children as young as 1 year old, and the exposure to some of these chemicals includes transdermal -- through the skin.
